Manufacturing Helpers - 1st Shift

We are currently hiring for 1st shift Manufacturing Helpers in our Ventura, CA location. This is our entry-level shop position and would be a great opportunity for mechanically-inclined individuals who are interested in a career in manufacturing. These are Union, hourly-non-exempt positions that are paid weekly. The general duties, responsibilities and qualifications are as follows:


Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and repetitive activities on equipment and machinery,
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machines such as cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating,
  • Work in one or more areas as deemed necessary by your Supervisor,
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area,
  • Ensure that only high quality products are processed through the department(s) you work in,
  • Ensure proper paperwork accompanies all parts you work on,
  • Identify and separate non-conforming parts, scrap parts, and acceptable parts, and note such on related paperwork,
  • Inform you Leadperson or Supervisor of material-, process-, or equipment-related problems,
  • Follow production schedule and work in a timely and efficient manner,
  • Follow all work and safety policies,
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality,
  • Cooperate with supervision and co-workers.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude is a must. You must have the ability to set up and operate various pieces of shop equipment and machinery,
  • You must have good hand-to-eye dexterity,
  • You must be physically able to work prolonged hours with heavy material (lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds),
  • You must be able to work in a loud, dirty environment and not be overly sensitive to safe levels of airborne chemical fumes,
  • If working in one of our clean rooms, you must be able to work in an enclosed temperature-controlled space with other people, while wearing head-to-toe, light-weight suits,
  • You must be able to work overtime as required,
  • Due to Safety and routing paperwork that accompanies our products around the manufacturing floor, you must have a good understanding of the English language and be able to read, write, speak it.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Quality Control Inspector (Entry-Level, 2nd Shift)

Valex is currently looking for a Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department on 2nd Shift. Valex is a  producer of high-quality, high-purity products, and your role will be to inspect our products for material defects and grade of workmanship using visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspection techniques. Inspections occur throughout our process, from raw material to final inspection of finished goods.


The successful candidate will have familiarity with all of the above referenced inspection techniques and the tools and instruments associated with each. Some of those tools include calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. We also work from drawings, so experience working off of drawings is a plus. You must be experienced working with computers, and you must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Some of our material is heavy and/or awkward to work with, so you must also be physically able to lift, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

This is a Union, hourly/non-exempt position that has room for growth for the right candidate.

Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

Valex Corp is hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic to work in our manufacturing facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic equipment. You will fabricate metal framework by welding and/or using industrial fasteners, you will fabricate tubing/piping systems using various types of material (copper, stainless steel, PVC, CPVC), and you will fabricate sheet metal duct work systems. In addition, you will also perform facility projects involving plumbing, drywall, floor repair, etc.


The successful candidate must meet or exceed the following qualifications: 4-8 years of directly related work experience in a high paced manufacturing environment; must have own tools and tool chest; must be able to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, prints, drawings, and manuals; must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively; must have a valid driver's license; must be able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly, must have demonstrated competency in plumbing, electrical, welding, sheet metal fabrication, HVAC, mechanical/pneumatic, hydraulic repair.

This is a Union position that is hourly-non-exempt and is paid weekly.

Warehouse Worker

Valex is looking for a warehouse worker with 1-3 years experience to join our warehouse team. You will support shipping, receiving, production supplies, and production control to varying degrees and at the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. You will use our automated ERP system to issue, receive, cycle count, and package inventory items, and you will transact receipts and issues of inventory items.


You must be familiar with ERP software systems (or be able to learn quickly), have experience with RF scanners, and have experience cycle counting inventory in a repetitive manufacturing environment. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., have a valid CA driver's license, and be able to read, write, and speak English.

Materials & Production Planning Manager

Valex is looking for an experienced Manager of Materials and Production Planning to join it's team. The successful candidate will have worked in a repetitive manufacturing environment managing materials and production planning, as well as have experience in the logistics of importing and exporting raw material and finished goods internationally.


Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a team of Buyer/Planners and warehouse staff,
  • Providing direction, motivation, and training for your staff as necessary,
  • Recommending solutions for quality defects and overall process improvement opportunities,
  • Production and Inventory Control documentation, cost, and status reporting,
  • Administrative activities related to Purchasing, Production & Inventory Control, and Warehousing,
  • Participation on the company's safety program to help ensure a safe working environment for all workers.
Qualifications for the position include:
  • Must have a college degree, preferably in a related field,
  • 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing company performing purchasing, planning, and warehousing activities,
  • 5+ years experience using and automated ERP system,
  • Computer literate in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Quality Technician (Non-Union)

The Valex Quality Department is looking for a Quality Technician to join its team. The Technician will be responsible for lab sample preparation, SEM/EDX, laser microscopy, root cause investigation, troubleshooting lab equipment, data entry, assisting with document control, calibration and weld testing, and will perform back-up duties for the Quality Engineer as needed.


We would be interested in someone that already has the qualifications necessary to perform the above duties, but we are also willing to groom the right candidate (internal or external). A lesser experienced, candidate will need to have good math skills (must understand at least basic algebra and geometry), computer literacy, knowledge of quality inspection equipment, and above all a willingness to learn new skills. We would prefer that the successful candidate have a AA degree in Math, Science, or Engineering, but if they do not, we would encourage them to utilize our tuition reimbursement program to achieve that level of education or higher (preferably) while on the job. You must have your high school diploma and you will be required to pass an in-house aptitude test. If you have letters of recommendation, please submit those with your resume.

Welding Specialist

Valex is looking for an experienced welder to join our growing team. This welder must have experience and/or education with the operation and programming of tungsten-inert-gas (TIG) or automated fusion welding equipment. You must also be able to read and interpret drawings, follow written and verbal instructions in English, lift/carry up to 25 pounds often, and be able to interface with others successfully.
