Quality Control Inspector (Entry-Level, 1st Shift)
Ventura, CA

Valex is currently looking for a Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department on 1st Shift. Valex is a  producer of high-quality, high-purity products, and your role will be to inspect our products for material defects and grade of workmanship using visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspection techniques. Inspections occur throughout our process, from raw material to final inspection of finished goods.


The successful candidate will have familiarity with all of the above referenced inspection techniques and the tools and instruments associated with each. Some of those tools include calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. We also work from drawings, so experience working off of drawings is a plus. You must be experienced working with computers, and you must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Some of our material is heavy and/or awkward to work with, so you must also be physically able to lift, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

This is a Union, hourly/non-exempt position that has room for growth for the right candidate.

Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic to work in our manufacturing facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic equipment. You will fabricate metal framework by welding and/or using industrial fasteners, you will fabricate tubing/piping systems using various types of material (copper, stainless steel, PVC, CPVC), and you will fabricate sheet metal duct work systems. In addition, you will also perform facility projects involving plumbing, drywall, floor repair, etc.


The successful candidate must meet or exceed the following qualifications: 4-8 years of directly related work experience in a high paced manufacturing environment; must have own tools and tool chest; must be able to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, prints, drawings, and manuals; must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively; must have a valid driver's license; must be able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly, must have demonstrated competency in plumbing, electrical, welding, sheet metal fabrication, HVAC, mechanical/pneumatic, hydraulic repair.

This is a Union position that is hourly-non-exempt and is paid weekly.

Manufacturing Helpers - 2nd Shift
Ventura, CA

We are currently hiring for 2nd shift Manufacturing Helpers in our Ventura, CA location. This is our entry-level shop position and would be a great opportunity for mechanically-inclined individuals who are interested in a career in manufacturing. These are Union, hourly-non-exempt positions that are paid weekly (shift premium applies). The general duties, responsibilities and qualifications are as follows:


Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and repetitive activities on equipment and machinery,
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machines such as cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating,
  • Work in one or more areas as deemed necessary by your Supervisor,
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area,
  • Ensure that only high quality products are processed through the department(s) you work in,
  • Ensure proper paperwork accompanies all parts you work on,
  • Identify and separate non-conforming parts, scrap parts, and acceptable parts, and note such on related paperwork,
  • Inform you Leadperson or Supervisor of material-, process-, or equipment-related problems,
  • Follow production schedule and work in a timely and efficient manner,
  • Follow all work and safety policies,
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality,
  • Cooperate with supervision and co-workers.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude is a must. You must have the ability to set up and operate various pieces of shop equipment and machinery,
  • You must have good hand-to-eye dexterity,
  • You must be physically able to work prolonged hours with heavy material (lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds),
  • You must be able to work in a loud, dirty environment and not be overly sensitive to safe levels of airborne chemical fumes,
  • If working in one of our clean rooms, you must be able to work in an enclosed temperature-controlled space with other people, while wearing head-to-toe, light-weight suits,
  • You must be able to work overtime as required,
  • Due to Safety and routing paperwork that accompanies our products around the manufacturing floor, you must have a good understanding of the English language and be able to read, write, speak it.

Warehouse Worker
Ventura, CA

Valex is looking for a warehouse worker with 1-3 years experience to join our warehouse team. You will support shipping, receiving, production supplies, and production control to varying degrees and at the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. You will use our automated ERP system to issue, receive, cycle count, and package inventory items, and you will transact receipts and issues of inventory items.


You must be familiar with ERP software systems (or be able to learn quickly), have experience with RF scanners, and have experience cycle counting inventory in a repetitive manufacturing environment. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., have a valid CA driver's license, and be able to read, write, and speak English.

Sales Project Coordinator - Temporary
Ventura, CA

The Valex Sales Department is looking for a temporary Sales Project Coordinator to cover for the current employee in that role who is going out on a 6-9 month long leave of absence beginning in the near future. Valex is a growing company, and the length of this temporary assignment is a great opportunity for you to show us your strong work ethic and ability to perform. If you prove yourself to be an asset to the company, there is a good possibility that we will be able to place you in a regular position with the company after the completion of the temporary assignment.


The Sales Project Coordinator will update project statuses using Microsoft Excel, will collaborate with the Planning and Shipping departments for on-time delivery of our products, will provide provide project updates to customers via email, will participate in weekly conference calls with various customers on on-going projects, will compile and provide project documentation to customers, and will invoice shipments as they leave the facility. The successful candidate must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, have great organizational skills, be able to multi-task, and have great verbal and written communication skills. 

Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for an EHS Manager to manage our safety and environmental programs for our foreign and domestic operations. Some responsibilities include vendor selection for waste removal, development and maintenance of written safety and environmental programs, employee training on those programs and a multitude of other safety topics, hazard communication, workers' compensation claims, accident investigations, reporting, etc. You will also work with multiple departments to improve manufacturing work center operations in an effort to minimize work injuries. You will travel to our facilities in China, Korea, and Texas when needed. Currently, there is one direct report to this position at our Ventura headquarters, and each of our other locations have someone who is responsible for EHS duties that you will work closely with.

You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Occupational Health & Safety or a complimentary major such as Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, etc. You must have 5+ years of experience managing environmental and safety programs at a manufacturing company, and you must be able to travel domestically and internationally when needed. You must have great verbal and written communication skills, and be computer literate in MS Office. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese or Korean is a plus. Preferred professional certifications include: CSP, CIH, CSHM, OSHA 30-hour, QEP, REM, and CHMM.

Buyer/Planner
Ventura, CA

Valex is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join it's production planning department. The successful candidate will use our ERP software to plan and schedule a specific specialty product. Duties will include daily review of sales and distribution requirements, entering and maintaining ERP planning data, managing the inventory of the key components needed to assure production can meet it's delivery goals on time, and working with Sales to establish delivery goals.


The minimum requirements for this position include two years' production planning experience in a distributed product environment, three years' experience using ERP software, effective written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in MS Word & Excel, and a high school diploma.

Industrial Engineer
Ventura, CA

Valex is looking for an Industrial Engineer experienced with lean manufacturing concepts who will devise efficient production systems and work instructions that integrate operators, machines, materials, information, and energy. 


The successful candidate will have a B.S. Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical) and four years of related experience, or will have some applicable college coursework and six or more years of directly related experienced. Must have proven experience in creating/writing efficient and effective work instructions for processes in a manufacturing environment. Must have a working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts, strong math and computer skills, and excellent verbal and written communication. Position may require foreign and domestic travel on occasion, so you must be willing and able to travel when necessary.

Manufacturing & Planning Engineer
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for a Manufacturing & Planning Engineer to join its Engineering Department. The successful candidate will maintain Valex's ERP database, quoting, and costing. You will develop, optimize, and qualify weld processes and parameters for multiple welding processes, including, but not limited to, gas tungsten arc welding and orbital tube welding. You will also design and support tooling for engineering and manufacturing. You will work with our sales team to plan, develop, and execute capability strategies to successfully manufacture existing and new integrated products projects.


You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with focus on one or more of the following: mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, materials, welding. Must have 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment. Must have 3+ years hands-on experience with gas tungsten arc welding and orbital tube welding. Must have familiarity with software programs, including, Solidworks, AutoCAD, and all Microsoft Applications. Must be able to interpret complex mechanical drawings and specifications. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, a U.S. Passport, and be willing to travel occasionally.

Buyer I - Texas
Round Rock, TX

Valex Corp is looking for a Buyer to join its team in Round Rock, Texas. In this position, you will create purchase orders based on MRP demand using our QAD ERP system, and you will maintain supplier delivery date accuracy in the ERP system. You will also identify and negotiate opportunities for improved cost, quality, and delivery from suppliers, and you will evaluate supplier cost and delivery performance quarterly.


Qualified candidates will have 3+ years' purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, two years' experience using an ERP system, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have at least a high school diploma or equivalency. Compensation will depend on experience.

Production Planner - Texas
Round Rock, TX

Valex Corp is looking for a Production Planner to join its team in Round Rock, Texas. This critical position is responsible for the planning of production, which includes, but is not limited to, loaded capacity evaluation, worker order creation and release, production scheduling, and coordination with multiple departments through the production lifecycle. You will also monitor and evaluate work order on-time performance, maintain production control documentation, and create Work Order System packets.


The qualified candidate will have 2+ years of production planning and purchasing experience in a repetitive manufacturing environment using an ERP system. Must be proficient in MS Windows, Word, and Excel software. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. You must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency, although a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Compensation will depend on experience.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Assembly, fabrication, and GTAW of high purity stainless steel process piping systems for semiconductor, medical pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and aerospace industries
  • Programming, set-up and running of various welding machines. Combining manual GTAW machines and automated orbital welding machines to weld stainless steels and other high purity alloys 
  • Be proficient in the following welding in all positions: 1G, 2G, 5G, 6G, and using a positioner 
  • Be proficient in complete joint penetration on square butt joints, and fillet welding of stainless steel. Thickness ranging from .035”-.125” tubing and up to 6” Sch. 40 pipe 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 4% or below
  • Understand AWS weld symbols 
  • Must be able to interpret welding procedure specifications  
  • Manufacture product that meets customer requirements and expectations. Inspect and verify work before submitting for inspection. 
  • Fabricate within dimensional tolerances as low as 0.010” and angle tolerances as low as 0.5 degrees  
  • Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations

            Project Manager - VTX
            Round Rock, TX

            Valex Corp is looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage the phased buildout of our Georgetown, TX operation. Using project management tools (GANT, Waterfall, etc.), this person will have the responsibility of complete project management, including cost tracking/budget analysis, target setting for milestones and adherence to deadlines, identifying potential scheduling issues, coordinating equipment installations, communicating with internal and external parties regarding all parts of the project via regular meetings, as well as make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress the project.


            The successful Project Manager will have familiarity with PMO/PMI methodologies, wastewater treatment programs (local, state, federal standards), and hazardous material storage and handling. You must also have excellent communication and organizational skills giving you the ability to successfully multi-task all aspects of the project and communicate effectively. You must be adept at problem solving to ensure that the project stays on track, and you must understand project trade-offs and good return-on-investment decisions to assure project success. You'll need to be a strong leader in order to properly motivate all parties involved to stay on track. At a minimum, you should have an Associate's Degree in an applicable discipline or at least 5 years experience performing project management in the budget range of $50 million +/-.
