Manufacturing Helpers - 1st Shift
Ventura, CA

We are currently hiring for 1st shift Manufacturing Helpers in our Ventura, CA location. This is our entry-level shop position and would be a great opportunity for mechanically-inclined individuals who are interested in a career in manufacturing. These are Union, hourly-non-exempt positions that are paid weekly. The general duties, responsibilities and qualifications are as follows:


Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and repetitive activities on equipment and machinery,
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machines such as cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating,
  • Work in one or more areas as deemed necessary by your Supervisor,
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area,
  • Ensure that only high quality products are processed through the department(s) you work in,
  • Ensure proper paperwork accompanies all parts you work on,
  • Identify and separate non-conforming parts, scrap parts, and acceptable parts, and note such on related paperwork,
  • Inform you Leadperson or Supervisor of material-, process-, or equipment-related problems,
  • Follow production schedule and work in a timely and efficient manner,

  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality,

Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude is a must. You must have the ability to set up and operate various pieces of shop equipment and machinery,
  • You must have good hand-to-eye dexterity,
  • You must be physically able to work prolonged hours with heavy material (lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds),
  • You must be able to work in a loud, dirty environment and not be overly sensitive to safe levels of airborne chemical fumes,
  • If working in one of our clean rooms, you must be able to work in an enclosed temperature-controlled space with other people, while wearing head-to-toe, light-weight suits,
  • You must be able to work overtime as required,
  • Due to Safety and routing paperwork that accompanies our products around the manufacturing floor, you must have a good understanding of the English language and be able to read, write, speak it.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Facilities Engineer
Ventura, CA

Valex is looking for an experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Project management,
  • Maintenance and improvement of manufacturing plant,
  • Determination of facility and equipment specifications,
  • Develop resource requirements and utility plans,
  • Design and layout of facility expansion and optimization,
  • Perform system evaluations and manage project costs,
  • Oversee and coordinate with contractors and vendors,
  • Plan equipment and infrastructure maintenance and activities.
The successful candidate will have a B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and 3 or more years experience in a facilities engineering role. Must have experience with AutoCAD and MS Office, knowledge of building process and construction principles, strong knowledge of structural code requirements, and excellent project management experience. Must also have effective written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Pay range for the position is $80,000 to $120,000 depending on experience.

Warehouse Worker
Ventura, CA

Valex is looking for a warehouse worker with 1-3 years experience to join our warehouse team. You will support shipping, receiving, production supplies, and production control to varying degrees and at the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. You will use our automated ERP system to issue, receive, cycle count, and package inventory items, and you will transact receipts and issues of inventory items.


You must be familiar with ERP software systems (or be able to learn quickly), have experience with RF scanners, and have experience cycle counting inventory in a repetitive manufacturing environment. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., have a valid CA driver's license, and be able to read, write, and speak English.

This is a Union, hourly/non-exempt position that has room for growth for the right candidate. Hourly rate is $20.00.

Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for an EHS Manager to manage our safety and environmental programs. Some responsibilities include vendor selection for waste removal, development and maintenance of written safety and environmental programs, employee training on those programs and a multitude of other safety topics, hazard communication, workers' compensation claims, accident investigations, reporting, etc. You will also work with multiple departments to improve manufacturing work center operations in an effort to minimize work injuries. You will travel to our facilities in China, Korea, and Texas when needed. Currently, there is one direct report to this position at our Ventura headquarters, and each of our other locations have someone who is responsible for EHS duties that you will work closely with.

You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Occupational Health & Safety or a complimentary major such as Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, etc. You must have 5+ years of experience managing environmental and safety programs at a manufacturing company, and you must be able to travel domestically and internationally when needed. You must have great verbal and written communication skills, and be computer literate in MS Office. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese or Korean is a plus. Preferred professional certifications include: CSP, CIH, CSHM, OSHA 30-hour, QEP, REM, and CHMM.

This is a regular, exempt position with a salary starting from $115,000 and depending on experience.

Industrial Engineer
Ventura, CA

Valex is looking for an Industrial Engineer experienced with lean manufacturing concepts who will devise efficient production systems and work instructions that integrate operators, machines, materials, information, and energy. 


The successful candidate will have a B.S. Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical) and two years of related experience, or will have some applicable college coursework and four or more years of directly related experienced. Must have proven experience in creating/writing efficient and effective work instructions for processes in a manufacturing environment. Must have a working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts, strong math and computer skills, and excellent verbal and written communication. Position may require foreign and domestic travel on occasion, so you must be willing and able to travel when necessary.

This is a regular, exempt position with a salary range of $85,000 and $100,000 depending on experience.

Human Resources Assistant I
Ventura, CA

The Valex Human Resources department is seeking an experienced clerical person to perform data entry, scanning, filing, and auditing. You will also be cross-trained in other areas or HR including, but not limited to, recruiting, payroll, etc. You may also help other departments with their clerical needs if time permits. 


The successful candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma (some college preferred), have great written and verbal communication skills, and have experience with MS Office and navigating database software. Must be able to work as a team or independently and must be punctual with good overall attendance.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with room for growth. The pay range is $18-$21 per hour depending on experience. The hours are 8am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday.

Supply Chain Analyst
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for a qualified Supply Chain Analyst to join its team in Ventura, CA. The successful candidate will review and analyze gathered data for SIOP. You will coordinate between sales, purchasing, production, and senior management. You will provide monthly reporting on planning and production activity.


To qualify for the position, you should have a minimum of two years experience doing the activities above and have a college degree or a certificate in supply chain. Additional years of experience may count toward the education requirement. The pay range for this position is $29-$33 per hour depending on experience.

Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance Coordinator
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for an experienced Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance Coordinator to join its team in Ventura, CA. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Material Test Report entry, management of our Continuous Improvement Opportunity System, management of our Document Control System, and assisting in the management and maintenance of our 5S program.


The successful applicant will have a two- or four-year degree or 2+ years of related working experience including expert-level skills in MS Excel. 

The pay range for this non-exempt position is $24-$27 per hour and will depend on experience.

Accounts Payable Clerk
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join it's Accounting team in Ventura, CA. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, daily and monthly A/P tasks such as coding invoices, matching invoices to receivers and purchase orders, and data entry of invoices and memos. You will perform full cycle accounts payable including issuing payments in the form of checks, ACH, and bank wires. You will also reconcile vendor statements and prepare A/P-related month-end journal entries and account analysis.


The successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma or equivalency, although some college accounting classes would be preferred. You must have 4+ years' experience in accounts payable, and preferably working for a public manufacturing company. You must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize your work, and you must be comfortable in a deadline-driven environment. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you must have at least intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and experience with ERP software. 

The pay range for this non-exempt position is $25/hr - $30/hr depending on your experience.

Accounts Receivable Specialist
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join it's Accounting department in Ventura, CA. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily and monthly accounts receivable tasks such as posting cash receipts, review of accounts on credit hold, and the collection of past due balances. You will evaluate new customer's credit worthiness and will create new customer accounts in our ERP system. You will complete annual credit reviews according to our policy. You will generate monthly statements and prepare month-end closing schedules related to accounts receivable. You will support the Accounting department as needed.


The successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma or equivalency, but some college accounting coursework is preferred. You must have 4+ years' experience, preferably in a public manufacturing company. You must have experience using ERP software and be at least an intermediate user of MS Excel. You must be able to multi-task and prioritize your work in a deadline-driven environment. You must have good written and verbal communication skills, and you must be able to work independently and as part of a team. You must be able to learn new tasks with ease and be prepared to help the department with projects as necessary.

The pay range for this non-exempt position is $25/hr to $30/hr depending on experience.

Staff Accountant
Ventura, CA

Valex Corp is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its team in Ventura, CA. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: perform month-end closing procedures for U.S. and foreign subsidiaries, assist with the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with GAAP, assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules. Areas of responsibility include A/R, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and SOX internal control testing.

 The successful candidate will have a BS/BA Degree in Accounting (or related) and 2+ years of experience (preferably in a public manufacturing company). You must have a thorough understanding of GAAP and SOX. Experience with A/R and fixed assets is highly preferred. You must have intermediate or better knowledge of MS Excel and have experience working in an ERP system (QAD preferred). You must be able to handle multiple projects at a time, know how to prioritize, and have great verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team and you must have the ability to take on new tasks with a higher level of difficulty.

 The pay range for this position is $70K-$80K per year depending on experience.

Cost Estimator - Round Rock, Texas
Round Rock, TX

Valex Corp's newest location in Round Rock, Texas is looking to add a Cost Estimator to the team. You will perform 40-50 quotes per day in order to support customer requests, you will develop BOM's and shop floor routers, and you will perform all other duties pertaining to the position.


The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience working in an industrial environment, 3+ years of cost estimating experience in a high volume quoting environment, and experience with ERP software (preferably QAD). Preferred qualifications include a B.S. degree in Manufacturing or Engineering, 2 years experience with 6S, Lean, and Six Sigma in a manufacturing environment, fluency in Windows and Solid Works/ACAD.

The wage range for this position is $33-$40 per hour depending on experience.

GTAW Welder Level 2 - Round Rock, Texas

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Assembly, fabrication, and GTAW of high purity stainless steel process piping systems for semiconductor, medical pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and aerospace industries
  • Programming, set-up and running of various welding machines. Combining manual GTAW machines and automated orbital welding machines to weld stainless steels and other high purity alloys 
  • Be proficient in the following welding in all positions: 1G, 2G, 5G, 6G, and using a positioner 
  • Be proficient in complete joint penetration on square butt joints, and fillet welding of stainless steel. Thickness ranging from .035”-.125” tubing and up to 6” Sch. 40 pipe 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 4% or below
  • Understand AWS weld symbols 
  • Must be able to interpret welding procedure specifications  
  • Manufacture product that meets customer requirements and expectations. Inspect and verify work before submitting for inspection.

            Warehouse Associate I - Round Rock, Texas
            Round Rock, TX

            Valex is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our newest location in Round Rock, Texas. The primary duties in this role include: picking, packing and shipping orders; receiving materials; cycle counting inventory; possibly operating fork lifts and other motorized equipment; and other duties as assigned. You must have 1-2 years of experience working in a warehouse that uses an ERP system, your high school diploma or equivalency, a clean driving record, good verbal and written communication skills in English, and you must be reliable and work safely.

            First Article Inspector - Round Rock, Texas
            Round Rock, TX

            Valex Corp is looking for a First Article Inspector to join its team in Round Rock, Texas. Some of the key responsibilities include: inputting all inspection date into our ERP system, Microsoft Excel, and other datases; ensuring all tasks are performed on time, which includes, but is not limited to, FAIR, inspection reports, visual inspections, etc.; ensuring all measuring devices and gauge calibrations are current; reading and interpreting engineering drawings and review blueprints to compare produced goods; and other duties as assigned. In addition, you will create new and update existing inspection programs as well as recommend overall improvements to the quality and production processes.


            Qualifications for this position include: 3+ years of related quality experience in a manufacturing environment; 3+ years experience in metrology, GD&T, and blueprint reading; working knowledge of Microsoft office and experience working in database systems, such as ERP software; high school diploma at a minimum, although college education including coursework in principles of drafting, inspection, mechanical engineering, etc is preferred.

            The pay range for this position is $25-$33 per hour depending on experience.

            Manual Machinist 1 - Round Rock, TX

            Valex Corp is looking for a Machinist to join its growing shop in Round Rock, Texas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: setting up and operating mills, as well as conventional and numerical control mills and lathes; performance of close tolerance machining and assembly, as well as conventional and numerical control mills and lathes; operate rotating machinery and other machines, including vertical mill and horizontal turning lathe; measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on material as template for machining; determine tool type and set machines for proper speed, feed, and coolant flow to optimize machine; inspect and replace machine consumables and evaluate operation to certify performance is adequate; collaborate with Engineering to design and use holding fixtures, cutting tools, and attachments to benefit machines; work with highly complex parts parts that include many angles, surfaces, pockets, steps, and related features on different plane; comply with all safety and environmental policies and laws; and work as a team member to aid others in encouraging and maintaining high department standards, including quality and on-time delivery goals.


            Successful candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalency and 5+ year's machining work. A certificate from an accredited college or technical school in welding and/or machining is preferred. Must have good math skills and be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals, as well as apply concepts of trigonometry. Must be able to calculate tool offsets and maintain dimensional tolerances less than or equal to +/- .001. Must be able to troubleshoot machine code and programs. Must be able to interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces. Must have working knowledge of print reading (knowledge of  GD&T preferred), intermediate PC skills for manufacturing, and working knowledge of 6S and lean principles. Must be able to effectively communicate with others in English verbally and in writing, as well as comprehend simple and complex instructions.

            The pay rate for this position is $30.00 per hour.

            Human Resources Generalist II - Round Rock, Texas
            Round Rock, TX

            Valex is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist who is interested in a growth opportunity to join its quickly growing team in Round Rock, Texas. The HR Generalist will work independently at first, but will be supported by our corporate Human Resources Department in California, our management team in Round Rock, and our parent company's (Reliance Steel & Aluminum) corporate HR/Payroll team located in Texas.


            Initially, there will be a heavy focus on recruiting, which will include sourcing of candidates, arranging interviews, arranging pre-employment activities after job acceptance, onboarding, and post hire assistance to assure a smooth transition onto the Valex Team. You will also learn our payroll system, Dayforce, and will become the local "expert" so that you may assist employees, supervisors, and managers with system navigation. You will assist in the payroll process by assuring that your local supervisors/managers have completed their time card review and authorization in an accurate and timely manner each payroll period. You will learn and become fluent in our policies and benefits so you can support ongoing employee and management questions and concerns related to all things that pertain to Human Resources. You will perform all other duties and projects that pertain to Human Resources.

            The successful candidate will have at least 4 years directly related work experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment), a high school diploma, and some college (applicable Bachelor's degree preferred). You must have knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws pertaining to Round Rock, TX and Georgetown, TX. You must be computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and be familiar with database software. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. You must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, flexible, and be able to prioritize your work.             Our location in Round Rock, Texas is looking for a Part Labeling Operator to join its growing team. Key duties for the position include orientating parts according to blueprints, and using ink stamping and etching equipment, prepare and label assemblies to be shipped to the customers. Candidates must have one year experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably utilizing labeling equipment. High school diploma and/or equivalent preferred.

            Orbital Welding Lead
            Round Rock, TX

            Our location in Round Rock, Texas is looking for an Orbital Welding Lead to join its growing team. The successful candidate will program, set up, and run various orbital welding machines. You will perform checks to ensure all necessary parts are available to perform fabrication. You will be proficient in complete joint penetration on square butt joints (tubing sizes ranging from 1/8" to 4" all parts and valves).


            The successful candidate will have 5+ years of orbital welding experience. High school diploma and/or equivalent is preferred, as is a welding certificate from a college or technical school.

            Production Polisher - Round Rock, Texas

            Our location in Round Rock, Texas is looking for a Production Polisher to join its growing team. Using hand and power tools, you will polish material to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing. You will inspect and replace machine consumables and evaluate the operation to certify performance is adequate. You will collaborate with Engineering/Machining to design and use holding fixtures and attachments to benefit polishing machines.


            One year experience in polishing material (steel preferred) and a high school diploma and/or equivalent preferred.

            Tube Bender (Manual & CNC) - Round Rock, Texas
            Round Rock, TX

            Our location in Round Rock, Texas is looking for an experienced Tube Bender to join its growing team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assignment and planning, layout, setup, operation, and making tool adjustments for various types of manual and CNC bending equipment. You will inspect machining operations against specified tolerances and may identify and repair minor machine malfunctions. You will collaborate with Engineering/Machining to design and use holding fixtures and attachments to benefit machines. You will calculate bends using CLA formula, E/E formula, and determine tangents.


            The successful candidate will have 5 years of applicable experience, and a high school diploma or equivalency (preferred).

            Pay rate for this position is $35.00 per hour.

            Orbital Welder 2 - Round Rock, Texas
            Round Rock, TX

            Valex is looking for an experienced Orbital Welder to join its growing team in Round Rock, Texas. You must be proficient in complete joint penetration on square butt joints using tube sizes ranging from 1/4" to 1/2" all parts and valves. You must have knowledge of welding with hydrogen/argon purge, achieving an internal purge of 10 PPM. You will set up and calibrate the power supply with correct welding program along with routine and preventative maintenance. You will fabricate within dimensional tolerances as low as as 0.010" and angle tolerances as low as 0.5 degrees. You will perform all other tasks and projects as directed.


            The successful candidate will 3-5 years directly related experience. You will also have a high school diploma or equivalency, and preferably a welding certification from a college or welding school.

            Pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour.

            GTAW Tack Welder - Round Rock, Texas

            Valex is looking for a GTAW Tack Welder to join its growing team in Round Rock, Texas. You will perform multiple tasks including tacking and tweaking material. You will set up and lay out work using jigs/fixtures to fabricate parts and/or rework finish products. You must have knowledge of welding with internal argon purge achieving 10 PPM. You will fabricate within dimensional tolerances as low as 0.010" and angle tolerances as low as 0.5 degrees. You will perform other tasks and projects as directed.


            The successful candidate will have 5+ years' of GTAW tack welding experience. You will also have a high school diploma and/or equivalency, and preferably a welding certificate from a college or trade school.

            Parts Cleaner - Round Rock, Texas

            Valex is looking for a Parts Cleaner to join its growing team in Round Rock, Texas. You will run an automatic ultrasonic cleaning machine. You will secure the parts in baskets that go into the machine, choose the correct cleaning program to run, and then safely package clean parts when the cycle is done. It will be imperative to comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations when performing this function.

You will perform regular preventative maintenance inspections and service on all facilities equipment to ensure effective performance of the machines. You will also clean machines and machine parts, which may require removing and reinstalling parts. You will record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts and may take machines out of service when necessary.


            The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years' experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and reciprocating equipment; and 3-5 years' experience performing regular routine maintenance of machinery.

            The wage for this position is $28-$34 per hour depending on experience.
