We take our obligation seriously to provide opportunities for qualified businesses as we identify, maintain, and grow our supply base.

Our Objectives Include:
- Create and maintain the Supplier Diversity Program
- Actively seek qualified certified diverse suppliers
- Communicating the value of supplier diversity both internally and externally to all stakeholders
- [NEW for 2022] Encourage uncertified suppliers, who otherwise may be qualified, to seek registration from a qualified Certification Body
- Valex may reimburse part, if not all, of the certificate cost for the inaugural year

Program Participant Qualifications
In Supplier Diversity Program, 'diverse' is defined as, a business that is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by (Recognized Certification Bodies are in parentheses):
- Veteran-owned Business Enterprise (NVBDC)
- Persons with Disability (Disability:IN)
- Small Business (SBA)
- Small Disadvantaged Business, HUB Zone or 8(a) Small Business (SBA, City and/or State)
- Minority-owned Business Enterprise (NMSDC)
- Hispanic
- African American
- Asian (USPAACC)
- Native American
- Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBENC)
- Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender (Certified by NGLCC)
